We had a blast at Pixar! Thanks so much to Faz and his team for hosting, not to mention the tacos, burritos, and drinks.
This month our talks were by Chris Lasell, focused d3, a Package & Patch Management tool for Casper. We also had a DEP panel feature, John Kitzmiller, Miles Leacy, Manuel Murilo.
Chris says D3 is sort of Munki for Casper, an entirely command-line tool. He showed how his tool extended the Casper Suite and its capabilities for Pixar.D3 consist of a d3 client and d3 admin. You can find Chris project on Github.
Our panel did an excellent job of explaining DEP and the use cases within their environment. Our group agreed DEP has made their lives better and has helped them maintain a thin image in their environment. Please watch the video below to hear the questions and answers from our panel.
